This short briefing, aimed at multiagency professionals, follows the Every Child Matters outcomes to highlight the key statistics which show the impact of having a family member in prison on children. There is also guidance on how to support these children and young people, including how to recognise the emotional impact and also a suggestion that agencies identify a lead or go-to person for children of prisoners. There is also a short (slightly outdated) list of national organisations which support prisoners families.
