The Community Engagement Centre (CEC) is situated to the left side of HMP Preston main gates. It is on the ground floor and is open from 9am-4pm Monday to Friday. Family and friends, mentors and support workers are able to meet the prisoners at the Community Engagement Centre as they are released. Shelter staff and volunteers are available at the Centre to give advice and support to prisoners' families and the community in regard to any of the Reducing Reoffending pathways. Citizens Advice hold appointment sessions at the CEC.

The Community Engagement Centre has the capacity to hold meetings/training and also has interviews rooms which can be made available to staff and other organisations.
