Inside Out is a service for the families of prisoners serving sentences at HMP Onley.
Inside Out run the Visitor Centre where they meet and greet families, run a play area for children, provide Welcome Packs to families new to visiting HMP Onley and provide general support and someone to talk to for families. Inside Out also run family days every month including a New Dads day for families with new babies born since the father has been imprisoned. This visit allows Mums and Dads to bath and change their baby together, have their baby weighed and discuss development issues with a trained Early Years Worker. New Dads days aim to help build an early bond between fathers and their children at this vital stage for both parents and children. Inside Out also undertake Needs Assessments and develop Support Plans for those families who identify as having on-going issues. The team is currently developing their work to support families and prisoners at the point of the prisoner's release or de-categorisation (to D category), around issues to do with release and resettlement. Inside Out work closely with the Family Advice and Support Team based at HMP Onley. Inside Out is part of Families First, based in Rugby, Warwickshire - a Family Support Service with over 20 years' experience supporting vulnerable or marginalised families.
