The Restorative Thinking Parenting Programme is delivered in prison and community settings with groups of prisoners and with prisoners and their spouse/partner (up to 12 people).
The Restorative Thinking Parenting Programme (Parenting without Conflict) has received the DofE CANparent quality mark. A short film about the programme, commissioned by the DofE, is available on the website. The programme draws on restorative principles and skills to assist parents in understanding their child's behaviour, thinking about what that behaviour is communicating and how to meet children's needs. The range of reflective activities encourage parents to consider the impact of their parenting styles and allows them to develop new skills needed to restore and rebuild positive relationships and reduce future conflict. The Parenting Programme prepares parents in prison/on probation to reconnect with their children. The programme, which is based on CBT, DBT and developmental psychology, is delivered over four 2.5 hour sessions and includes a range of activities and taught sessions, all of which are clearly laid out in the programme.
