Help and support for school children affected by parental offending
This week millions of children across the country are starting a new school year and it is estimated that at least 200,000 of them may be affected by having a parent in prison. Schools can offer an enormous amount of help to these pupils but all too frequently they continue to suffer the 'hidden sentence' alone and unsupported. The NICCO website contains a variety of resources aimed at all those involved with the education of children which give clear guidance and examples of good practice on how to create and maintain a supportive regime.
